Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup at its “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, 2025. Pre-orders may begin around September 12, with devices hitting retail by September 19.
The lineup is expected to include four variants:
iPhone 17 (base)
iPhone 17 Air (ultra-thin)
iPhone 17 Pro
iPhone 17 Pro Max
All models are rumored to adopt LTPO OLED screens with 120Hz refresh rates and always-on display capabilities across the board, previously reserved for Pro models.
iPhone 17 Air could redefine slim design at just 5.5–6.25 mm thickness, making it the skinniest iPhone yet.
The Pro models may sport a new “camera bar” spanning the width of the phone, a major aesthetic shift from the compact square module.
All versions will likely feature Apple’s next-gen A19 chip, with Pro models upgrading to A19 Pro and possibly 12GB RAM, while the base models stick to 8GB.
Pro variants may include vapor chamber cooling and advanced thermal design to enable sustained performance.

Unified front camera upgrade to 24MP across all models.
Rear setups:
iPhone 17: dual (48MP wide + 12MP ultrawide)
iPhone 17 Air: single 48MP (due to slim design)
Pro / Pro Max: triple 48MP setup with high-end zoom (8x or periscope)
Charging: expected support for up to 35W wired and 50W MagSafe wireless, though advancements may be limited.
Wi-Fi 7, Apple’s custom 5G modem, and on-device AI features are expected. The Air model may drop physical SIM in favor of eSIM only.
Rumors mention increased use of recycled materials and green manufacturing efforts
